Wealth Analytica computes portfolio analytics, fund and equity research, and risk metrics from live feeds — Morningstar for fund, stock and ETF data; Intelliflo for client holdings; and the FCA, ONS and HMRC for regulatory and economic data. We refresh price feeds intraday, holdings every business day, and regulator data on publication. We never compute or display advice. This page is reviewed at least quarterly.
Data sources
Every analytic in Wealth Analytica is built from one of five primary sources. We don't fabricate, synthesise or interpolate values that we couldn't show you the origin of.
- Morningstar — funds, OEICs, investment trusts, ETFs, single equities. Prices, total returns, OCFs, factor exposures, ESG scores. Refreshed intraday for pricing; daily for fund-level analytics.
- Intelliflo (where the IFA firm has the integration enabled) — live client portfolios, plan structures, holdings, transaction history. Read-write via OAuth; the IFA controls what's synced.
- FCA register and policy publications — firm authorisations, regulatory updates, consultation papers. Used in compliance-tracking features.
- ONS and HMRC — inflation, gilt yields, tax thresholds. Used in cashflow modelling and projection features.
- SEC EDGAR and EU regulatory filings — XBRL data for 15,000+ equities. Powers the deeper equity research views.
How we compute portfolio analytics
Performance, risk and attribution numbers are computed from the underlying holdings — not from a model approximation of the holdings. When a client's portfolio contains a fund, we look through to the fund's actual constituent positions (Morningstar's holdings dataset) so that asset allocation, sector exposure and geographic exposure reflect the real positions, not the fund's stated style box.
Returns are time-weighted and calculated from total-return prices (dividend-reinvested). Risk metrics are computed over rolling 36-month windows where data is available. Where a fund or wrapper is too new for a 36-month series, we display a confidence indicator next to the metric rather than extrapolating.
What we don't do
We're explicit about the lines we don't cross. The platform does not:
- Provide financial advice, recommendations, or anything that resembles a suitability decision. That sits with the IFA.
- Project future returns as if they were certainties. Cashflow modelling uses historical and scenario data; outputs are explicitly bounded with confidence ranges.
- Compute tax. We display tax-relevant data (ISA allowances, CGT thresholds) sourced from HMRC, but tax computation is the adviser's responsibility.
- Make trades, place orders, or move money. The platform is read-only on Intelliflo write-paths until the adviser explicitly authorises an action.
- Substitute for primary-source regulatory checks. Where a Consumer Duty obligation requires a specific document, we surface where to file it — we don't sign it for you.
Refresh cadence
- Intraday — equity and ETF prices, FX rates, market indices.
- End-of-day — fund NAVs, total returns, OCFs.
- Every business day — Intelliflo holdings sync (where enabled).
- On publication — FCA notices, ONS releases, HMRC threshold changes.
- Quarterly — review of fund universe coverage, source-feed audit.
Reporting a data issue
Found something that doesn't look right? Email hello@wealthanalytica.com with the URL, the analytic, and what you think it should be. We respond on the same business day, log the issue, and either correct the data within 24 hours or explain why the figure is what it is.
